Only You Beside Me (framed original)

This soft pastel on rag board in 23k gold leaf (water gilt) and mordant gilt lettering on macassar ebony wood "Monument" frame resides in a Florida private collection. In this work, the cloaked girl is a ghost that gets visited each day by the raven who loves her and who shows his love by presenting her with a spent rose picked from a grave in the cemetery.
